What Can I Make With Hamburger Meat?
The possibilities are rather limitless, really. You can make burgers, casseroles, pizzas, and chili, just to name a few. Below is a selection of some of the top recipes that can help you make some fantastic dishes your friends and family will truly enjoy!
Super Easy Hamburger Casserole
1 lb. hamburger
1 med. onion, chopped
1 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
1 can mushroom soup
1 box tater tots
Brown hamburger meat (use medium heat for this step). Add onions and cook until they are sauteed (turn a brown, translucent color). Add the vegetables and soup, then place in a 13×9 pan. Put the tater tots and top and bake for about one half hour at 350 degrees. You’ll know its ready to serve when it bubbles slightly and the tater tots are browned!
1/2 Time Chili Recipe
• 3 Tablespoons olive oil
• 1 1/2 cups chopped onion
• 8 large garlic cloves, chopped
• 2 pounds ground chuck (you can also substitute ground chicken or ground turkey)
• 1 envelope taco seasoning or 1/4 cup taco seasoning
• 1 teaspoon dried basil
• 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
• 1 15oz can tomato sauce
• 3 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
• 1 6oz can tomato paste
• 2 15 to 16oz cans of kidney beans (drained)
It’s not as complicated as the ingredients suggest. It’s actually easy.
Heat the oil in a saucepan with medium heat. Add the onions until they are sufficiently sauteed (translucent). This should take seven or eight minutes. Next, put the meat in and cook it until it’s brown. Add the basil, taco mix, oregano and thyme. Mix it well.
The next step is to add the tomato paste and sauce and chicken broth. Stir it well and let it simmer for approximately 2 hours – stir it at random intervals to prevent sticking.
Finally, mix in the beans and simmer for an additional five minutes or so. Refrigerate it, then warm it slowly when it’s time to eat!
Hamburger Pizza
This is the easiest of them all. Start with a premade crust – making your own crust simply isn’t worth the time or effort. All you have to do it apply the toppings you want and wait for the cheese to melt. For hamburger as a filling topping, simply brown it first before putting it on the pizza. This gives it a nice, crisp texture when the pizza is done. Just follow the instructions for the crust and you’re in business!
